Kennet Passengers is a user group which lobbies for better transport in and around Kennet in Wiltshire.
We meet at least six times a year in the Devizes area; please contact us for more information.
Our main focus at present is getting a travel information station for Devizes off the ground. Devizes is an important market town in the centre of Wiltshire without a bus or railway station. Devizes is clogged with traffic at peak times because the alternatives are considered too difficult to tackle.
The facility, or 'virtual station', would not only deal with tickets and timetables but enable operators, community transport providers and planners to know the market better, find out what would encourage less personal car use, help with access to health care, plan visits to gardens by public transport and act as a broker for taxi, car sharing, bike hire, and car clubs.
We also hold Passenger Open Fora, carry out surveys and hold stalls to find out people’s priorities. These have led to numerous small changes adding up to significant improvements. Find out more about us and our achievements on our website.
All welcome to join in.
