BEVEL campaigns against a road scheme that would destroy hundreds of homes and businesses. The scheme for which our homes are under Compulsory Purchase Orders would widen Edge Lane West, a one-kilometre section of road in Liverpool.
Academics and practitioners have described the scheme as 30 years out of date in concept, a mere traffic conduit, giving no consideration to the existing built environment, the natural environment, or human beings not contained within motor vehicles. We are proposing a much less damaging, alternative scheme.
