If you're part of a campaigning group, community group or NGO in the North of England, here's a chance to help shape the future of road and rail transport.

Transport for the North (TfN) is developing a long-term Strategic Transport Plan, covering both road and rail. Its purpose is to bring transformational economic growth, unlocking economic activity and jobs by improving connectivity across the North of England.

In developing its Strategic Transport Plan, TfN aims to balance its economic goals with social and environmental outcomes.

Campaign for Better Transport is working with Transport for the North on this project, facilitating engagement with environmental and sustainable transport stakeholders. If you're part of a campaigning group, community group or NGO in the North of England, here are two ways to have your say:

1: Fill in our survey

This survey seeks your views on the key social and environmental issues affecting the TfN Strategic Transport Plan.

We welcome your responses by 25 November, to influence the development of the Plan. The survey will stay open after that date for additional responses.

2: Come to one of our workshops

We are holding workshops to seek NGO views on the key social and environmental issues affecting the TfN Strategic Transport Plan. If you're part of a campaigning group, community group or NGO in the North of England we'd love to see you there.

The first round of workshops are:

  • Friday 18 November in Newcastle
  • Tuesday 22 November in Leeds
  • Friday 25 November in Manchester

Tickets are free but space is limited, so register today to secure your place or tell your colleagues about these events.

We will also be launching an online survey later this month and look forward to hearing your views. If there are any events or communications you have planned through which we can share information, please let us know.
