4 July 2011: MPs are there to represent their constituents, and as the bus cuts start to bite it’s time to turn up the pressure.
Across the country bus users are facing bus cuts and rising fares. In some places the village bus stop is now a lonely souvenir of a bygone era. That is why we are asking for your help to get your MP to sign up to the new Parliamentary motion to protect local bus services.
The Save Our Buses campaign has been putting a spotlight on the plight of local buses as national and local funding cuts combine, threatening our best used public transport service. We want central Government to take responsibility, because without the humble local bus we would all live in a less economically active, less fair and less green society. Please write to your MP and ask them to support a Parliamentary motion (Early Day motion 1986) urging the Government to recognise the value of buses.
