We've revealed that the cost of the Highways Agency’s road building plans has jumped again – now 83% higher than originally expected. These roads will just increase traffic, pollution and CO2 emissions, so why should we foot the £8.12 billion bill?

Strong support for local action on climate change

19 August: A survey published today found that a majority of people and MPs think councils have a key role in tackling climate change. We agree, which is why we are asking Government to amend the Local Transport Bill so that councils can play their part in reducing carbon from transport.
