1 March 2017
Campaign for Better Transport responds to the decision today, Wednesday 1 March, by 10 local authorities in south east Wales, to go ahead with the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal.
The deal will bring £1.2bn of investment to south east Wales and will help to improve transport across the region.
James MacColl, Head of Campaigns, Campaign for Better Transport said:
"Investing in modern public transport, walking and cycling is the right choice for the future of south east Wales and good news for the local economy.
“It is a positive alternative to the ruinous plans for the M4 relief road which will damage precious nature sites and be a disaster for the climate and public health. It will also do nothing for the tens of thousands of residents who depend on public transport to access jobs and services."
