The Government is planning key decisions about northern England's rail network. On 19 November, we're joining forces with the National Railway Museum in York to host an event to discuss what the future holds. You can join us.

The shape of northern England's rail network is up for grabs with new franchises for Northern Rail and TransPennine Express under development. Will they set out plans for growth, investment and improvements? Or will it be fares rises, service cuts and savings?

These are critical decisions for communities, the economy and rail users. The event will hear from:

Stephen Joseph, Chief Executive, Campaign for Better Transport

Alex Hynes, Managing Director, Northern Rail

Nick Donovan, Managing Director, TransPennine Express

David Brown, Rail North

David Sidebottom, Director, Passenger Focus

Chris Dale, Chair, Travelwatch North West

Julie Mills, Project Director, Department for Transport

This event will take place early evening on 19 November at the National Railway Museum in York.

There is no charge for the event, and only a few places are still available - you must RSVP.
