2 August 2011: We want to give bus passengers a platform to tell MPs exactly how important buses are to them. So we are taking a double decker campaign bus to the party conferences. Get on board and have your voice heard!
Has your community been hit by bus cuts? Are you now struggling to get to work, or college, or to visit family or get to the shops? We want to make sure that politicians really understand the impacts of bus cuts on the lives of voters and taxpayers. We want bus passengers to be able to put their views to the people who make the decisions.
So if you have a personal story that you think would persuade politicians to think again about bus cuts then please let us know! On the 19th September we will be at the Liberal Democrats party conference in Birmingham, on the 26th September we will be with Labour in Liverpool, and on the 3rd and 4th October we will be with the Conservatives in Manchester.
Read more about the campaign bus, and where and when it will be open here. If you would like to attend, please complete the short online form here and return it to us as soon as possible to help us organise the event.
If you can’t make it to the campaign bus we still want to hear your stories of bus cuts. We have already heard from all sorts of people, telling us about the personal hardship caused when bus services are taken away. Drawing on these case studies we are compiling an anti-bus-cuts-dossier to present to Norman Baker, the Minister for buses. You can tell us your story here.
It’s time for bus passengers to step up and speak up!
