26 April 2010: Later today, bus campaigners are hitting the streets in Devizes to stop the council from cutting a service that people need.
Wiltshire Council is trying to save money by cutting the Night Taxibuzz which links Devizes with nearby villages. The service is used by rail commuters returning from work, disabled people, students coming home after college and everyone who wants to get out and about in the evening without a car.
The campaigners are calling for the council to continue the service for six months so it can look at better ways of cutting costs. They'll be at the Bus Island in Devizes from 6pm this evening. Let's hope Wiltshire gets the message.
