2 January 2012: Don’t miss this opportunity to voice your views on rip-off rail fares. Text, tweet or call George Osborne on the first working day of 2012.
Rail users sitting in rail carriages or crowded into vestibule areas across the country are being asked to text, tweet or call George Osborne to let him know how much their fare has gone up and what that means to them.
To take part:
• Tweet: @hmtreasury I am paying £xx more for my rail fare. I am angry because . . . #farefail
• or send a text with you message and the keyword farefail to 88802
• or to make a call direct to the Treasury on 02072705000
The action is being promoted by a coalition of organisations but it relies on everyone who is sick of overpriced trains to help to spread the protest on line and off line. If you use twitter please also re-tweet the instructions to take part in the protest from @fairfaresnow.
To make sure it’s a big push rather than a trickle we are asking people to wait until the 3rd January.
UK rail fare rises are a scandal. It is time for passengers to become protesters!
