Campaign for Better Transport responds to ORR complaints data and National Rail Passenger Survey

Responding to the Office of Rail and Road's Passenger Rail Service Complaints data, and Transport Focus's National Rail Passenger Survey, both released today, Darren Shirley, Chief Executive of Campaign for Better Transport, said:

"While overall passenger satisfaction with rail journeys is up there is still a lot of work to do before we have the network people want. For example, the number of complaints about things like timetabling, crowding and facilities on board trains is rising while less than half of passengers are satisfied that their ticket gives them value for money. The Government's Rail Review needs to transform how we manage and operate our railways including a fundamental rethink on fares and ticketing."
