On Wednesday, 17 June, Campaign for Better Transport will join 10,000 people in central London for the biggest public lobby of Parliament on climate change ever.
As part of the Climate Coalition of over 100 charities, unions and NGOs, supporters from Campaign for Better Transport will be gathering outside Parliament to meet their constituents to discuss climate change and what they can do in the build-up to the UN climate negotiations in Paris.
James MacColl, Head of Campaigns, Campaign for Better Transport, said:
“The climate lobby will be the first chance since the General Election for everyone to tell our MPs that they must take urgent action to ensure that future transport policy helps to limit the disastrous impacts of climate change, both at home and working internationally with other countries through the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.
"Nearly a quarter of our emissions come from the transport sector, so if we're serious about tackling climate change, we must get serious about reducing our reliance on cars and lorries, and providing decent public transport, cycling and walking alternatives."
