Improving the Quality of Buses in Kent
The KYCC Transport Campaign group are currently surveying young people in Kent to get their views on the quality and reliability of public transport services that they receive now. The group has received over 700 responses so far. The group will collate their findings and have arranged to meet with cabinet members for Kent County Council, Stagecoach, Arriva and other Kent transport companies to try and find a way to improve the quality of Kent's buses.
As a result of the survey the Transport Campaign group will also be working to improve respect and behaviour on buses.
We meet one Sunday a month; please get in touch for dates and locations.
June 2015: The KYCC Transport Committee met with transport providers and County Councillors this month to discuss the results of their survey and to hold them to account about the £50 increase to cost of the Young People's Travel pass.
They also have a meeting with the head of Stagecoach in Kent to share their transport survey results and try and work with them on their new PTECK campaign to improve respect on the buses and improve the quality of services.
