Reacting to the publication of the Government’s response to the consultation on the Bus Services Act draft regulations and guidance, Lianna Etkind, public transport campaigner at Campaign for Better Transport, said:
"The Government's consultation response brings an operational Bus Services Act one step closer. Local authorities and operators will now be able to set standards including multi-modal, multi-operator ticketing; fare discounts; customer service standards; and vehicle standards. There's a huge opportunity here to make bus services more attractive, affordable and environmentally friendly, bringing benefits not just to passengers but to the wider community."
