“These statistics show that rail use is continuing to boom so it is vital that the Government supports this growth. Overcrowding and service disruptions continue to be a major inconvenience for passengers and we need long term investment in infrastructure and rolling stock, with passengers at the centre of decision making, to combat this. These statistics also show that there is a clear demand for more services in many parts of the country and the Government must look at reopening further stations and lines to connect more people to the rail network.”
