Campaign for Better Transport responds to Patrick McLoughlin’s diesel tax comments

7 June 2016

Responding to the Transport Secretary's comments today (7 June) on a tax rise for diesel car owners to tackle air pollution, Andrew Allen from Campaign for Better Transport said:

"There is a strong case for cross-departmental action looking at areas like future fuel taxation, funding for sustainable transport, the impact of major road building plans, whether modelling and monitoring are up to the job, and if land-use planning guidance does enough to encourage development based around public transport, walking and cycling."
