Campaign for Better Transport responds to news that London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, has backtracked on his election pledge to freeze fares for all commuters across the capital.
Lianna Etkind, Public Transport Campaigner, Campaign for Better Transport said:
“It is understandable that the thousands of commuters who expected a fares freeze will feel disappointed that the Mayor has backtracked on this pledge.
"Before spending millions on unwanted and unneeded projects like the Silvertown crossing, which will make pollution and road congestion worse, he should ensure London has the affordable public transport it needs."
