Initiative to reduce car use in the West Midlands welcomed

19 March 2019

Responding to the proposed £20 million Future Mobility programme from Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), Darren Shirley, Chief Executive of Campaign for Better Transport, said:

"We welcome this initiative to reduce private car use and create healthier communities. Enabling people to move to more sustainable transport through schemes such as mobility vouchers will help take the most polluting vehicles off the road quicker and improve those communities whose health and wellbeing is being adversely affected by air pollution."
