Campaign for Better Transport has welcomed the new 26-30 railcard but said a more far reaching reform of the rail fares system is needed.
Stephen Joseph, Chief Executive of Campaign for Better Transport, said: "We welcome the move to extend railcards to 26-30 year olds as it will bring discount fares within the reach of more young people. However, further reform of the rail fares system is needed to make it simpler, fairer and cheaper. In particular, we need to see flexible season tickets for part-time workers and a freeze on fares rises this year to avoid high inflation increases."
