James MacColl has been appointed as the new Head of Campaigns at Campaign for Better Transport.
James will be overseeing the transport charity’s main campaigns: Fair Fares Now, Save Our Buses and Roads to Nowhere, as well as heading up Campaign for Better Transport’s policy work.
James MacColl said: "I am very excited to be taking up this challenging role. With people’s access to decent public transport under threat from funding cuts and rising prices, now is a vital time to get campaigning. I hope that people will get behind us at Campaign for Better Transport in the run up to the General Election, so that together we can help to make life easier for hard-pressed households and also make the environment cleaner for everyone.”
Stephen Joseph, Campaign for Better Transport's chief executive, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming James to Campaign for Better Transport. James has a wealth experience of campaigning and policy work and will be a fantastic addition to the team."
James is joining Campaign for Better Transport from RenewableUK, where he is currently head of public affairs. James has previously worked on public affairs and campaigning for both RSPB and CPRE.
James will take up his post at Campaign for Better Transport on 2 December.
