London road user charging report welcomed as other cities are urged to adopt schemes

29 April 2019

Reacting to the new report from Centre for London, Green Light: Next Generation Road User Charging for a Healthier, More Liveable, London, Darren Shirley Chief Executive of Campaign for Better Transport said:

"It is clear the Government needs to look at the future of transport taxation to promote greater use of public transport and cut carbon emissions and air pollution. Road user charging can help reduce congestion, improve air quality, and bring much needed income to cities allowing them to invest in better transport systems. It's the kind of approach we need not just in London, but in cities across the country."
