Government risks stalling rail passenger growth in the north of England

14 September 2015

Responding to the growth in rail passenger numbers, James MacColl, Head of Campaigns at Campaign for Better Transport, said:

"It's great that more people are using the train, but the Government risks stalling this growth, or even reversing it, if it continues to press the pause button on rail investment projects across the north of England. We need a clear timetable for delivering the fast, high capacity and high quality rail connections passengers in the north of England deserve."
