Rail disruption: Campaign for Better Transport reacts

9 May 2021

Reacting to the rail disruption this weekend, Norman Baker at Campaign for Better Transport said:

"The problems faced by passengers this weekend show how vital a smooth-running rail network is in keeping the country moving. The issue with these trains must be urgently addressed, along with other barriers to people returning to the railways, including introducing more flexible season tickets for people returning to workplaces part time. The Government must recognise public transport as vital to a green economic recovery, to thriving towns and cities and healthy high streets."
