Campaign for Better Transport - the national charity that advocates for better, greener, fairer transport options - is seeking to recruit new Trustees.
Campaign for Better Transport’s vision is for all communities to have access to high-quality, sustainable transport that meets their needs, improves quality of life, reduces inequality, and supports a vibrant, productive and decarbonised economy.
With over 50 years’ history and under the leadership of our Chair, Shamit Gaiger, and our new Chief Executive, Ben Plowden, we are working to enhance our organisational effectiveness in order to respond to transport’s critical challenges and achieve even greater impact.
We are seeking new Trustees (a voluntary role), who will work in partnership with the Chair, Trustees, the Chief Executive and staff to ensure that the charity is effectively managed, accountable to its stakeholders, and achieves its strategic goals and objectives.
We are especially keen to recruit Trustees with voluntary sector fundraising experience.
We are seeking Trustees with experience of operating at a strategic leadership level, and ideally with Board experience.
Our Trustees should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound independent judgement, as well as knowledge of the key issues involved in running a small organisation.
They should be interested in the benefits to society of sustainable public transport.
We are especially looking for trustees with contacts in the transport sector and/or skills in the following areas:
