Celebrating how better transport connects people and places

Better transport – transport that is safe, accessible, affordable, reliable, integrated and green – does amazing things. It connects communities and brings people together; creates a thriving economy and revitalises local areas; it’s good for our health and wellbeing; and it cleans up our air and tackles climate change. We think that’s something worth celebrating!

This year, our annual celebration of sustainable transport took place from 15 to 21 June and the theme for the week was celebrating how better transport connects people and places.

“Transport shapes our days and our lives, connecting us to friends and family, the things we need and the places we love. Better Transport Week is an opportunity to celebrate transport at its best, and the connections that it makes possible” – Jenny Agutter.
