Join us this Better Transport Week for a special Railway 200 event celebrating one of the world’s most scenic and iconic railway journeys, the Settle-Carlisle line!
On Tuesday 17 June, hop aboard the 15:18 service from Leeds, arriving into Carlisle at 17:59, and experience breathtaking views through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines. This historic route was saved in the 1980s thanks to the efforts of Campaign for Better Transport, and now we’re inviting you to help us celebrate its legacy during Better Transport Week.
As part of our #ScenicRailView competition with Scenic Rail Britain, take the opportunity to capture the stunning scenery along the way and share your best shots for a chance to win an exciting prize. Don’t miss this unique journey through railway history and natural beauty! This is a Railway 200 event.
Note: This event is open to the public. Please book your own travel for the journey. People are welcome to join the journey at any stage on the route.
