Campaign for Better Transport names Norman Baker as its new Charity Ambassador
Following four years with the transport charity, firstly as an advisor to the CEO and then as Director of External Affairs, Mr Baker is taking a step back from the day to day running of the organisation to concentrate on his freelance activities. He is however keen to continue supporting Campaign for Better Transport and so has agreed to take up a new post as Charity Ambassador from January 2024.
Paul Tuohy, Campaign for Better Transport’s Chief Executive, said: “It gives me enormous pleasure to be able to name Norman Baker as our new Charity Ambassador. Having benefitted from his in-depth knowledge of transport and his political nous for the last four years, Norman will remain an important part of the organisation and we will continue to draw upon his enthusiasm and expertise in his new role.”
Norman Baker, the organisation’s new Charity Ambassador, said: “Campaign for Better Transport plays a vital and indeed unique role in promoting sustainable transport. My enthusiasm for this remains undiminished and so I am pleased to be able to continue my links with the charity while at the same time freeing up my diary to allow more time for my freelance activities.
“Campaign for Better Transport has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and I leave my director post in the confident knowledge that is in very good shape for the future.”
