Levelling Up Fund: transport charity reacts

19 January 2023

Reacting to the announcement of projects awarded funding from Round 2 of the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, Silviya Barrett of Campaign for Better Transport said:

“It’s great to see so many bus, rail, walking and cycling projects among these winners: recognition that sustainable transport is at the very heart of levelling up. We welcome these exciting moves to connect communities, but the Government must also strengthen support for existing, bread-and-butter bus and rail services or communities up and down the country will see their connections dwindle.”
