London to get 24 hour tube services at the weekend

Campaigners respond to the news that London will get 24 hour tube services at the weekend as of September 2015.
Martin Abrams, Public Transport Campaigner, said:
“24 hour tube services will be particularly welcomed by shift-workers, for whom travel outside the typical hours is essential. Any new flexibility of operating hours must be backed up by flexibility in ticketing too, so that season tickets don’t discriminate against commuters who work outside the five day per week, 9 – 5 norm.”
There are over 8 million part-time workers in the UK, of whom 876,000 are in London (ONS data for April 2013 – March 2014).
