This is possible thanks to Earth Raise, a week-long match funding campaign run by Big Give, aimed at boosting environmental causes.
To protect the environment, we urgently need to improve public transport, walking, wheeling, cycling and shared transport.
- Transport is still responsible for more carbon emissions than any other source
- Cars and vans are the biggest source of toxic nitrogen oxides in our air
- Transport affects our local environment, from noise levels to whether children can get out and play
But good, affordable public transport and safe routes for walking and cycling won’t just improve our environment. They will enable everyone to get around more easily, to access opportunities and lead happier lives. They will connect communities and boost local economies.

I love travelling by bus and train, on my bike and on foot. But living in a village where the train station was closed in the 1950s and buses are few and far between, I’m passionate about making transport better.
