Transport campaigners have visited Leeds as part of this year’s Better Transport Week to drum up support for a tram line in the city and highlight the positive impact of tram networks on city regions across the UK.

A Shropshire man is cycling over 1000km from Scotland to London, scaling Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike as he goes, to raise money for Campaign for Better Transport.   

People are being encouraged to think about their transport choices and consider more sustainable options as part of Better Transport Week, which starts today.

Responding to the England men’s football team’s decision to fly to Germany for the Euros rather than taking the train – and its decision to stay at a remote training base and fly to matches – Michael Solomon Williams of Campaign for Better Transport said:

As part of Better Transport Week 2024, Campaign for Better Transport and SYSTRA are hosting the Better Transport Conference at Kings College’s Strand Campus in London on Friday 21 June.

Campaign for Better Transport has published its General Election Manifesto which contains its transport asks for the next government.
